Gedo's progress thread

Just ordered 4 x new tyres. Had advisories for both fronts and rears @ recent MOT and I knew they'd need changed soon. Probably 1000 miles life left in them but with a Euro Road Trip looming I don't want to take any chances.

Was thinking about the Eagle F1's but decided that the Hankook Ventus S-1 Evo2's would be a good compromise between performance, cost, durability, etc.

Ordered 2 x Hankook Ventus S-1 Evo2 K-117 225/40 R18 92 Y XL ZR's & 2 x Hankook Ventus S-1 Evo2 K-117 255/35 R18 94 Y XL ZR's from Oponeo and hope to get them fitted sometime next week.

Never bought tyres online before so exciting to see how they will arrive :D

Good choice. I've gone for those for my 19's. Currently sitting in my garage awaiting the wheel refurb. Extremely good value, if the reviews are anything to go by.

 hope to get them fitted and run-in before heading off to Switzerland on the 24th June.

New tyres fitted. The car's also had the Hunter 4 wheel alignment treatment from my local specialist: Pro-Grip in Larbert.

I'd recommend them to anyone in the Central Scotland area - http://www.pro-grip.org.uk

Embarrassed to say but that's me just got the car on the road for the summer ! Other than going for it's MOT it's been locked away which is a crime. Hoping to make up for lost time and went for a quick blast last nigh :driving: .

Took a couple of new pics before it was put back into the garage. Eagle-eyed out there will spot the front splitter has gone, the victim of a French motorway from last Summer's Road Trip. On the lookout for a replacement however not having it does give me more ground clearance which is nice...

Time to bring this thread to an end...The car has now been sold, however I expect the new owner Mark will make an appearance on the forum some time soon.

I enjoyed the Z4 and our Euro road trip in it was a fantastic experience that I'll never forget. It was fast, reliable and got admiring glances wherever it went however it's time to move on. Looking at a 2011 Boxster at the moment, toyed with the idea of a Z4M but nothing in this area for sale and don't want to have to travel too far.
