Gearbox oil

Hi, I know this topic must have been discussed many times.
I have just got myself a Z4 2.5 SE 2006 6 speed manual straight six lump.
It has done just over 74,000 miles. Do I need to change the gearbox oil?
If so, which oil would you recommend? I believe its about 1.1 Litres capacity, also is there e Youtube video on 'how to' do it.
I am good with a spanner. Whilst at it I would also like to do the CDV delete.

Hi there, I had my gearbox oil changed at about 80K miles and it definitely improved the shift quality - and hopefully may have lengthened the life of the box!

This thread may help:- https://z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=117803

I can't help with how to do it as my Indy did mine, but there is a drain plug and a fill/level plug so it ought to be pretty straight-forward once you get under the car.

Definitely worth changing, look on Millers Oil website & it'll give you grade & quantity.
While you are under there, change the diff oil as well, then you can rest easy for several thousand miles. :D

75w80 GL4 spec. You won't go wrong with any reputable brand, a lot of people use Castrol, Millers or Fuchs (believe Fuchs is actually the factory fill, albeit a newer version now)

Thanks for the replies, much appreciated. Will have to wait for an Indian Summer or similar to do the work and a host of other work and mods.☺
Regards,
Sukhi.
