Gearbox oil plug part number

Hi all, I’m in the process of doing a gearbox oil change on my Z4 E85 2.0i 2006, 6-speed manual.

I’ve had issues determining the part number for replacement plugs (one of the old ones was leaking). BMW themselves, a dealer and RealOEM say it is 23127602815 with no gasket. However, the ones I’ve taken out are longer (same thread pitch though) and have a gasket like 23117531356. My gasket is light turquoise and says DIN-3869-18, FKM and B+S on it.

Does anyone have any insights into the right part? Thanks.

05 Screw plug M18X1,5X12 2 Part Number 23127602815
Same plug for Filler and Drain neither are fitted with sealing washers, they will probably be tapered threads like my 2003 2.5 and dont need seals/washers, if the female threads are worn in the box then some ptf plumbing tape around the plug threads will ensure a better seal.

Thanks for the thoughts. The thing that's confusing is that all the guides/videos I've seen show the same longer plug with light turquoise gasket that I have, e.g. Figure 2 on https://www.pelicanparts.com/techarticles/BMW_Z4M/114-TRANS-Manual_Transmission_Fluid_Flush/114-TRANS-Manual_Transmission_Fluid_Flush.htm#project-photos

The car Pelican are demoing on is a Z4M - that's not what you have :-) But maybe some people see that later style plug as an upgrade?

Haha, of course. I've seen 2.5i and 3.0i guides that also use the same long plugs.

Since both the long and short plugs seem to fit, I think I'll use my old longer plug (in good condition) on the the drain hole and the new shorter one on the fill hole, both with a bit of PTFE.
