Gearbox Oil Leak

Recently purchased, was it a mistake, I hope not.

Car having all fluids changed soon, so was on my hands and knees looking under the car at manual gearbox, looks like I have a leak, probably gasket, is it an cheap easy fix, or time to get rid of it 😟

Any ideas on what I need to sort and cost.

Might not be box, on my car it was the silver box at the front of the engine, the oil water heat exchange.
Common leak point as all underside of engine and gearbox was coated in oil.
Open bonnet and look down to the bottom tray, if wet, same as my car.
If is only buy genuine BMW gasket set.
So you don't have to do the job twice :x

Could be sump, laying on floor can get my hand in the gearbox location and it's wet, but not really sure what I am touching...lol..its oil based.

Just purchased eccentric sensor, complete new elring valve cover, to install new sensor, **** it...lol.

Got a feeling it ain't going to be a cheap fix, may have to get rid and make a loss

Previous mot'er pointed out oil leak, but when i started smelling hot oil in the car i investigated the most likely cause, it was, the heat exchanger gaskets leaking.

Cheers just had it on a ramp and cleaned all down, mechanic said you got 130k on the clock and it's been there a while, keep an eye on it. Will do, only takes me 10 min to get it on axel stands.

I feel you! Gasket leak can be annoying. If it's minor leak, it might be worth fixing, but if the repairs start adding up, you might consider your options.
