Gearbox drain bung

In right section now!
Getting round to changing gearbox and diff oil, plenty of discussion on torque settings but can't see one for gearbox drain and refill bung that's 16mm socket fits onto. There is no crush washer or rubber seal. So I am assuming it's pretty tight to avoid leaks.

Cant remember if there was a crush seal, I just undid it, drained, did back up with 'sensible' nip up and has been fine for 3 years now. Need to do again this winter...........

From memory, don't the plugs have a green washer on them?

I have in my notes I fitted a new diff oil fill seal, alongside mag drain plugs for diff & gearbox.

The ones on the diff do but for the gearbox it's just a 16mm hexagon head with threads same with the refill bung as well.

Drain and fill plugs on the gearbox do not have crush washers the thread is a taper thread and the plugs just get screwed in till they are just tight, not overtigtened. The tapered thread is enough to provide the required seal.
The diff plugs however do have washers on them, oem are alloy washers and eventually turn to lace as they corrode so best to have replacements to hand when doing a diff oil change. Cheapest washers on ebay are listed for timing chain cover but they are same size as the diff. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/273966268722?epid=1009352125&hash=item3fc9a98132:g:8~0AAOSwWudZcf07&amdata=enc%3AAQAHAAAA4GsdJ7t3MexAqiPbMWoJqRPan%2B0S6yjefBjA%2F9kXbgwTPJgj5raCC68FGjfLiZD57dxKwZ4%2BoWldGDehkmgigy93iggXonGNVw8882KrM5lqhA3BDj3kEqdo%2BrA2DHG%2BiJfDdwCV8GnwzJlm7%2F%2F4I2no7n4Ar5emm2sPdzbc1wkkXrghgr6xXaLZioy%2BuQcenmBrpaIwM2awr7z1Qp6%2BdwCCT677vPjGOLFzOf7mjbMBTBtMXZeH68acaVBhRKQcAlqIrUEjCJrE1SiGuIvl4xhRn3MfhB8RQaKDpzrnTvEi%7Ctkp%3ABk9SR7DQ9-PcYA

Absolutely bang on answer, yes had new diff bungs. Tightened gearbox bung tight enough not to leak. Many thanks for answer. Might see you at Beaulieu?
