Gearbox,diff and engine oil change

Hi guys I'm going to do a service on my 2003 3.0 manual

Oil 6.5 LTRs
Gearbox 8.3 LTRs
Diff 1.5 LTRs

Can anyone tell me if I have the gearbox and diff oil figures correct? , And if you have any good suggestions on what you have used and recommend that has seen you proud .

All ok except the manual gearbox dose not hold 8.3l

It’s about 1.4 litre.

Hi, I'd did think that was a bit high but it showed them figures in the manual. Thanks for the reply are the gearbox and diff the same oil type ?

No, 75/90 diff oil and MTF-LT1 or equivalent for the gearbox.

You want a 75w80 GL4 oil for the gearbox and a 75w90 GL5 in the diff. Engine wise, you want something that has BMW-LL04 approval. You'll have the option of 0w30, 5w30 or 5w40, each with merits and drawbacks.
