I've got my car booked in for it's inspection 2 next week and will supply the oils myself.

So can anyone tell me how much gearbox oil and how much diff oil I need to order?

Cheers

The standard stuff recommended by opie oils .

Castrol Syntrax Limited Slip 75W 140 Fully Synthetic Car Gearbox Oil - Formerly SAF-XJ

and

Castrol Syntrans B 75W Fully Synthetic Car Gearbox Oil

As above, order 2l of each but you'll use about 1.5/6.

I'd recommend the RedLine MTL 70W-80 for the gearbox...
I got the tip from on here.

Still can't believe the change it made! :)

Do you have a eurocarparts product code for both items please?

I can only find Product Code: 522770962:

http://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/p/car-accessories/engine-oils-and-car-fluids/car-tranmission-oils/manual-transmission-fluids/?522770962&0&cc5_868

And, I should have booked mine in for an Inspection 2 today!

Better than standard? Would love to add a little more slickness to the shifting, the colder temps don't help :)

Oh yes!
Transformed my gearbox. Should be 1st mod for any Z4M IMHO...
You're in for a treat. :)

(Ok I might be overexxagerating, but give it a few miles and you'll deffo notice it)

:o
Great adds gearbox oil to my to do list hhah
As I hate 1st to 2nd when pulling away quickly
Gets stuck on notch above
Stupid stupid design
Anyone else suffer this?

Update appears the redline has gone and upgraded to 75-80
Any oil buffs care to input any massive difference upon this change??

Lots of people suffer from this 1st to 2nd gear denial at high rpm, it's a well known Z4M 'feature'.
Uprated engine mounts solve it to a certain extent, vibra-technics etc.

Hey buddy
May look into that as end up fumbling like a fat kid in a sweetie bag for 2nd when destroying a chav!

The redline mtf helped my shifts in general, but the first to second takes some getting used to . I find that if you shift !.. FIRST to SECOND Bang Bang ! It wont go in smoothly ,especially when cold. But try shifting "Out " of first then "In" to second ,in a two part shift with a little side pressure to the left you may find you nail it more often than not.

Yeah I end up doing that
Getting vibra tech engine mounts also to see if helps buddy
Does my head in!
Don't do it very often as I'm a mechanically sympathetic driver but when I do I hate it haha
