Gearbox and Diff Fluid change

Having completed the Cam Cover Gasket change it was the turn of the gearbox oil to be changed whilost I had the car in the garage on the lift. Undid the filler plug first and boy was it in tight, 14mm hex bit and two spanners linked to extend the length managed to undo it, not enough room at the side of the box to get a breaker bar in there. Breaker bar used on the drain plug and that came out. What came out was quite black and on inspecting it saw that it had very few sparkles in it. To refill I used an electric oil pump I picked up at a Lidle store whilst on a previous visit to Prage a couple of years ago. Threaded the outlet pipe into the filler hole and the other end in the bottle of new oil. Switched it on and once the oil got into the pump it filled it in quick time. Changed over to the other bottle and added a touch more until it dribbled from the filler hole. Popped the plug back in and that was that.
Went around to the back of the car to do the Diff, dropped the alloy under tray and noticed that quite a few of the mounting holes were corroded and starting to look like lace. Tried to get the 14mm Hex into the filler plug but couldnt get it in despite cleaning it out. The plug is at an angle and trying to get the Hex into the plug proved to be a problem with the assortment of sockets and extension bars I had in my tool kit. Gave up in the end and will get a replacement plug to hand before I have another attempt at getting it out in case I ruin this one.
Would really like to change it since the car is on 92k miles and judging by both the gearbox and Diff plugs they have never been removed.
Nice video on how to here on Youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ww-ZiPuu1C8
Sent shopping after all of this so had the chance to have a quick local spin out, gearchange is nice and slick, I would say it feels better than before. At least I now know whats in there.
