Gear shift indicator light

Hey guys!, I'm new here and just got a 2011 BMW Z4 Sdrive 30i. I don't have a manual for my car because it didn't come with one and I only have this car less than a week so my question is, when I park my car and shut off the Engine, next to the gear shift next to "P" is a little orange light and it stays lit even if my car is off is this supposed to be? I heard somewhere that it's supposed to go off after 20 minutes but mine doesn't the little amber colored light next to the "P" on my gear shift stays LIT All night Long and all day always..

That’s fed by the terminal 30 relay which switches different circuits to sleep after switching off, i discovered that mine was failing to do this & putting a 6 amp drain on the battery. Pulling the relay and reinstalling it seems to have made it behave but i have a new one on order.
