Gear knobs!

Well I got a ZHP gearknob for christmas, got the gf to get the old one off :lol:

Just one question, should the new knob click down into place? I have pushed pretty hard but I'm not sure if it's fully on and I don't want to break anything inside the new knob by pushing too hard on it!
 
Check on the inside, there's a rib that needs to align with the slot on the shaft, preventing the knob from rotating. If it's aligned that way, that's as far as it will go. BTW, you can give it a moderate punch with the underside of your fist to secure it. :thumbsup:
 
If its a brand spanker it will take a bit of force to get it to click into place. Mine did, didn't look right after a day or two. I put the palm of my hand on the top and pushed my bodyweight up and that did the trick.
