Gear Knob Refurb

If anyone is interested I have just refurbed my ageing leather gear knob in my Z4M. Faced with a bill of around £180 to replace i thought i would search for an alternative. As the leather around the top of the gear knob had faded to a grey colour, and the badge was showing signs of wear, I bought a leather colour restoring kit for £17 and a new M badge for £20 that illuminates like the original. Pics probably don't do it justice, but the results are fantastic and it looks like new again! A pretty penny saved.IMG_0164.JPGIMG_0165.JPGIMG_0166.JPG

Great tip, mine gear-knob on my Z4M could do with a touch up too for the same reasons. Hadn't really thought about doing it before, but for that price, why not.
Out of interest, how well does your gear-knob light up? I find that even in the dark, its kind of half lit on one side only. Did putting the new badge on cure something similar for you?

Thanks
