Gear knob recommendations

I'm not overly keen on the oem knob in my 2.5 litre roadster, it seems a little cheap, plasticky, light and long. I fancy getting something better quality with a better feel. Anyone got any recommendations? I know the zhp is highly regarded, but costs a fortune to get in non-M form from leatherz. Not sure I could stomach paying more than £50 for a knob :lol:
 
just get an ZHP from soper - even if it has the M badge at under £40.

The m badge actually matches the one on my steering wheel!

I've got one of those alloy ones somewhere that I took off my M5, as it kept coming off in my hands despite tightening the allen screw (mainly because the previous owner chopped the gearstick down by hand and left it ragged).

Don't like them personally (although do like the 8-ball ones) as they get very hot/cold in certain conditions.

I'll see if I can find it, and then offer it on here.

I have to say I am leaning towards a zhp as it is a BMW part and doesn't look out of place. I just feel a bit of a charlatan putting an M badged item on my car when it's a comparatively lowly 2.5 litre :oops:

+1, kinda wish I got the illuminated one now but there was a cheap one going on the forum so I had to have it :evil:
 
I believe the club sport knob is the same part as the zhp? I think the part number is 25 11 78 96 031?
Might have a word with my local stealer and see what they charge for it. I've had a look on eBay and can't believe the amount of chavvy tat on there :lol:

Urgh, that pink knob is truly appalling :lol:
That said, I saw a pink z4 drive past the other day, so this knob would be perfect for it :rofl:
 
Yeah m badge on zhp/oem bmw looks good,imo.
get in touch with joe@sopers(on here),around £40,delivered to your door. feels/looks so much better than std one (shorter and heavier/better weighted)

Yeah it cost me £80 but its 500g of pure titanium plated loveliness that I can take to my next Beemer so worth it IMO :thumbsup:

Love that titanium storm motorwerks one, but I couldn't bring myself to part with the best part of £100 for a gear knob :o
 
I don't think I'd hear the end of it from the girlfriend if I bought one and she found out how much I paid :?
I'll have to admit I've looked at it longingly several times though :lol:
