Gear knob and Handbrake replacement

I know you like pictures so here you go.

I have never came across a gear lever that interferes with gear changing making the throw from 1 st to 2nd so awkward. If any of you have doubts do it. Personally i think its a must.

Gear changing has totally changed. The throw of the gear feels like it has been halved :driving:

I put one on my E46 did you fit knob and gator or just knob I seem to remember it comes complete with gator

That looks really good do you mind me asking where you got them from, gear knob is no good for my 5 speed but I really like the look of the handbrake cover.

Yeah just the knob. Plenty are going cheap enough on Ebay. They are from a 1 series or 3 series M sport. They are going cheaper than the ZHP knobs albeit them being twice the price brand new. :headbang:

The handbrake is the same. I like matching things (OCD)

Iv recently bought similar handbrake cover & handbrake gaters too (already done the gear nob), but wanted to know how you go about removing the existing ones?
Any tips or images?

I used a plastic spatula placing it at the rear of the handbrake gaiter/ arm rest. Should pop up quite easily once, once the rear is lifted, lift up and go towards the handbrake. The handbrake gaiter is connected to the lever by a cable tie so you will need to carefully cut this to remove the lever from the gaiter.

As for getting the lever off, the best way i found since it has to clips that you csnnot get to is, either twist the handbrake lever to A- to the right or B-to the left. Dependant which side you are sitting in and what you find more comfortable. With the handbrake twisted to as far one side as it can (this left/right twist is minimal by the way, not much movement) keep it at that twist and push as hard as you can it will eventually come off. Trying to do it with out the little twist is harder i felt. As with the twist, the clips tend to leave their securing holes more easily!
