Hi all

Recently my Z4 started smoking quite similar to this guy here;

From what I have read online, I have to change my head gasket cover as its a common thing for this engine. I have a 2.2i SE E85. I am trying to find the correct part to order but can't find it for the life of me.. . :?

Could someone please tell me if this is the correct part?

Thank you very much.

The first one looks correct but get the proper BMW part number from www.realoem.com to make sure. You also need a dab of silicone rtv in the corners of the 'half moons'.
Your current gasket will probably have turned to fossilised plastic and will probably break up as you try to remove it. Use a plastic scraper in one hand and a Henry vacuum or similar in t'other to catch the debris :thumbsup:

When replacing the main and plug well gaskets also change the 15 rubber seals part number 7 in the diagram that hold the cover onto the head, these go hard with age and heat cycles and don't provide enough compression if you use the old ones. Some suppliers do include these in the replacement gasket kits other don't. BMW supply them, for decent money.

They're included in the first Elring gasket set in the OP, same as I fitted last year :thumbsup:
