Garaging my Z4

Hi. Now that winter is here I only use my Z4 when it is dry and wonder if I should use a battery conditioner if I am not using it for a couple of weeks or more.

It will be garaged and whenever I can I will turn it over and run it up to warm everything through.

If I use the conditioner do I plug it in via the connections in the bonnet?

As you can tell I do not have a lot of "under the bonnet know how"! :D

I would suggest using one. I have a ctek 800 which has done me proud. You can connect either under the bonnet or in the boot like I do.

Meant to say lost a battery after 5 Weeks of no use, but ctek has been on for 2 years and battery still ok and car doesn't get used that often

Hi. Thanks for the speedy replies I do have one from when I owned a TVR (that spent a lot of time in various garges!)

I am trying to figure out how to post pics and details of my Z4.

By 3am I will give up.

Hi and welcome to the Forum. I use a CTEK all the time - keeps the battery in A1 condition. As for posting pics go to the Newbies section - full details there.

Alan. Thanks. I'll get the camera out and get some new ones and get them on soonest. Oh and also the battery conditioner too.

It's the same colour :D

Yes... Do use a battery maintainer
No... Do not start it occasionally to warm it up...this can do more harm than good
Better to change the oil prior to storage to get rid of engine acids, add some fuel stabiizer to a full tank of Gas and leave it alone until you are ready to drive it again.
