Cost me a new battery though. Couldn't stop from opening & closing when returning to the car in public places. How immature but what great fun! :D
 
Got mine delivered today. Will fit it when the weather gets better. Anyone know if there is a how to fit video or detailed pictures anywhere on here?

I'm sending mine back to Gaptech to test it. It's under warranty so if faulty I guess they'll fix or replace it. If it's ok it'll be my crap job at fitting it but either way I'm selling it. If you don't mind waiting I'll let you know

Hopefully nothing, but I discovered I can lower my roof from the key fob anyway and I'm not fussed about the rest of it. When I fitted it it lowered but wouldn't go back up. All connections seemed ok and Gaptech have agreed to check it out.
 
Does this gadget increase the speed at which you can travel and raise/lower the roof?

I see some similar gadgets operate at up to 60kph.

x2 - the roof will simply not work or stop moving if you are travelling at more than 5/10mph. I am not sure if you can even start it unless you're stationary as I've never tried to do it when moving. But as it's one touch you can set it going and slowly move off while the cycle is still running. I wouldn't fit anything that allows the roof to open / close at higher speeds as the air resistance could knacker the mechanism. Newer e89s can open/close the roof at up o 25mph, but IIRC BMW had to strengthen the hydraulics to allow this. Worth noting that this mod only works on the e85 Z4.
 
It's a very essential gadget for Roadster owners.
Example 1:
(WITHOUT GapTech) Driving home with the roof down, park, hold finger on 'roof up' button for 2-3 seconds to activate, continue to hold finger on button for a further 10seconds while roof raises, wait for windows... Turn off engine leave and lock car.

(WITH GapTech) Driving home with the roof down, park, Turn off engine leave and 3 button presses (2 unlock 1 lock) and windows sort themselves out Job done.

I have many other examples, but that's the best.

You'll have to message "gapTech" on here and ask him. I restarted this old thread previously, messages him and he said if I Russell up 10+ buyers he'll do 1 discount, 15+ a better discount etc....
Iv got mine (and love it!!) tho so it's up to one of you guys now to take this over :-)
