You both need to work on the timing on pressing the three buttons. Don't press too quick. :wink:

See I've found quite the opposite, slow clicks are getting me nowhere.

ALSO, important question here: Does the car have to be unlocked first? So it's unlock, three pressed? Or can the unlock be one of the three presses?
 
It It doesn't matter weather the car is locked or unlocked, you can open and close the roof from either state with just 3 clicks. Please ensure that you are in range and that your fob battery is healthy - also bear in mind that you are now using the fob button more often so it's battery will discharge quicker and if you're only driving short distances it may not be getting a full charge (it charges whilst in the ignition). Each click must be between 0.5 and 1.5 seconds apart.

I didn't say 'slow'. Say 'fish fingers' between the clicks. Come back in a week's time after you've had a bit of practise. :wink:
 
i've had mine for over a year, used regularly in summer..... 3 clicks almost 1 second apart no issues.

Only once had an issue... a human error when closing... i did the usual 2 open 1 close, but pressed open again by accident half way through, and the roof remained half closed... and was unresponsive for about 30 seconds (i'm gussing till the close cycle finished) :headbang:
 
Hi guys, just to let you know that I won't be able to post any modules after tomorrow as I'm away on business until Thursday 14 February. Any orders that came in over the weekend will be posted today and I can still post tomorrow any other orders that arrive today.
 
Does anyone else get it sometimes after the roof has closed and the windows go back up, a window will go all the way up then back down again a few inches? I take it that its just the trap sensor being sensitive?
 
Mine arrived today, took 15mins to install but sadly it's not working :(
Neither the remote operation or the one touch operation, the hood still functions normally off the buttons and the remote though so I can only assume I have a dead unit or it's wired incorrectly?

So, here's the pics of the five wires connected if anyone can spot anything wrong?

First question, did you squeeze the metal pins down with pliers?



Oh and I've solved my "not working every time" issue. Turns out I'm impatient.

When you do it from locked, it does take about 5 seconds (possibly less) to respond, not that's I'm complaining, but basically, when I pressed the buttons and nothing started happening, I would start pressing more buttons in a mad rage.

So yesterday I walked outside, clicked three times relatively slowly and then went to walk towards the boot thinking nothing had happened, and bobs your mothers brother the roof started opening! :roll: Silly me.
 
Table, you mean the wiring instructions? I copied word for word when I wrote the post above mate.

Yes I used pliers and gave the wires a tug to make sure they were secure too.

5 seconds is way longer than what it should be, says 0.5 seconds in the instructions! lol
 
You're mis understanding me, the roof starts to drop after about 5 seconds or so.

And yes, could you post a picture of the table in the instructions??? Can't check much without it ;)

When I connected mine, I used medium sized pliers to nip the scotch locks together and then tested and it didn't work. Wires were also tight when I pulled them. I had to get larger pliers as I don't think the metal connector within the scotch lock had actually cut through the plastic insulation of the wire fully. Once I had gone over nipping the connectors again it worked first time. :)
 
Oh right :oops:

A question, probably a really silly one, have you put the gaptech wires in the correct side of the connector? One side is blocked off, so the crimp wouldn't even touch it if you only push it in a little way on that side.

Always best to check the silly things first.
 
Swiftly, all the metal connectors are pushed flush with the plastic surround and cannot go any further, I might give them all another squeeze though just to be sure.
RJS-Z4, Yes mate all in the correct side and tugged them to make sure they were secure, I will double check everything though.
This is why scotch locks are not really the best way to connect anything, I would normally have soldered but as it's a none essential ancillary I thought it would be nice to not cut the loom up.... Maybe not the best idea if it turns out to be a bad connection! :headbang: lol
 
I never cut my wires, just exposed a bit of the wire, and wrapped the gaptech wires around it, added a drop of solder.

Then stuff it under the center console!

Forget the scotch locks, strip wire as aquazi said, and solder onto it. That will work 100%
If you use the scotch locks, it might work until the car hits the first hump in the road and will then stop.

Solder all the way (Gas solder only - not electric !!).
