Ordered Monday, arrived today. :D

I don't know what size I thought it would be but when I saw the padded envelope and then the size of the actual module I was quite surprised.

Anyway, it's here and will be fitted soon, incl install pic's that I'll upload for future reference for those who may order at some point.

The one touch feature is worth the cost to me. Being able to quickly up or down the roof, and drive while it's going up or down is very useful!

Got it fitted today and love it!!

The hardest thing to do was cutting the black tape that BMW wrap the existing cables in. Bitch of a job that but wires cut, connected with connector blocks, not the scotchloks provided.

Nice mod that, thx to those who said it was worth the outlay as not having to continually hold the button in the car to lower the roof is already worth doing this mod.

£95 delivered mate. http://www.gap-tech.co.uk/rchp.html

Arrived within 48hrs and took me about 1hr to fit, start to finish.

Pop out the ashtray inner, remove a Philips screw holding the ashtray console in, pull it up, disconnect the 3 connector blocks and then there's 5 wires to snip and splice, as I say, removing the BMW tape that protects the wires was the ball ache bit of it in truth.

I have just paid £95 for gaptech as well and being colour blind had it fitted by my mechanic Dave just after Alien Z had his roof motor fitted in his boot. All wires soldered and it works a treat. So much easier getting in and out in my garage with top down.Money well spent.

Colour blind is not what you want to be for fitting one of these :P

As you say though, great mod.

Can you post instructions please , lost mine

Can do mate.

Tomorrow though as they're in the garage.

It's the RCH+ instructions that I have btw.

If that's the full fat one great, fitted mine when hardtop was on so never tested, now ht off and it doesn't work so need to check conns, and yes I used the splicers supplied. ;(

Here you go buddy, a pic also, if it'll zoom in enough for you when you view it, if not, I've explained the wiring also.

Your connectors - Gaptech =

Wide Black Plug - Gaptech
Brown/Red - Green
Brown/Violet - Yellow
White/Red/Yellow - Blue

Narrow Black Plug - Gaptech

To lower - press the unlock button 3 times waiting between 0.8-1.5 seconds between each press.

To raise - press the unlock button twice followed by a single press of the lock button, again, waiting between 0.8-1.5 seconds between presses. The final press of the lock button will lock and arm your Z4.

Inside the car - a single press of 0.5 seconds of either the raise or lower button will complete the required movement without having to hold the button until either action is complete.

Hope that helps!

Once the roof is in motion you can drive which is handy at lights etc. Not sure on the maximum speed you can drive though. I may have to test it. I've also noticed that if you press it as you're coming to a stop it works the roof once you've stopped.
