Gaptech group buy!

Probably not - just write Moheddine group buy and you should be okay if sending payment today. I told him there were a couple on holiday, so you might be okay

Paid for one last night hopefully recieve it tomorrow, few of my mates have other convertibles and i cant wait to see their faces when i put the roof down for the first time with this fited :D :D :D :D :D

Do Gaptech have a contact number at all? Ive payed not recieved anything (3 days) and not even had a conformation email. Ive emailed yesterday to enquire aout wether my payment was recieved and if the goods were being sent out and not even had a reply.

I've not seen a contact number for them anywhere. This is strange, as I got replies to emails within a few hours (often sooner) when I organised this group buy. Without sounding silly, have you checked your PayPal transactions to see if it has definitely gone out? I never received a confirmation email, but there are some that did. They may be on holiday perhaps?

Yes I checked my account yesterday to make sure and it is out my account, this is what I found strange as everyone seems to have had there's next day delivery or had emails I've had nothing was just checking if someone had a contact number.

Hi ZfourG

Mine took about 4 / 5 days. Don't worry yet. I also heard nothing but it just arrived with a "Sign for Card" had to go to local posty and pick it up.

I wouldn't worry yet

haha thanks guys typically ive just come home and found a slip through the door requiring a signature! ill be at the window waiting on my postie walking past again and if not ill be at the delivery office before it opens tomorrow to make sure i get it   :P

Mine is now fitted after having it sitting in the boot for the past 2 weeks.

All tested and working as it should. Great bit of kit this and will get plenty of use in the summer especially when walking back to my car and lowering the roof ready to just get in and drive off :D :driving:

Hi guys,
Well I finally managed to find time to fit my Gaptech module

As I've decided to take a slightly different install route I thought I'd post a couple of pictures of the result.

Like some others I was not entirely happy with dismantling the wiring in the car, so instead of fitting the module to the cars wiring I decided to investigate connecting into the switch unit (the bit that you disconnect)

So I removed the switch unit from the car and took the whole thing into my nice warm, roomy kitchen. (much better than messing in a cold car)

After removing the switches from the rest of the assembly I dismantled the switches and removed the circuit board. The wiring connector is soldered directly to the circuit board, I was hoping that the pins would be available behind the wiring connector but you can't get to all the pins required this way.

Turning the circuit board over the all the pins are available from the other side (where they are soldered to the board).

After a few trips to and from the car I worked out which wires went where, and proceeded to feed the wires to the module through the rear of the switch casing and soldered them directly to the circuit board.

With a little jiggling the whole lot was re-assembled and the final red wire was soldered to the back of the cigarette lighter socket.

Here are the final results. I have not needed to touch my cars wiring loom, the module is now self contained within the switch assembly, the added bonus is that I have not needed to disconnect the battery as all the intrusive work was carried out while the assembly was away from the car.

Needless to say the module works a treat and I am one very happy bunny.

Very impressive I must say, let's hope your switch unit never fails or you will have to do it all again.

Used mine for the first time today as the sun was out and we had a few shops to visit, it looks so cool as you are walking back to the car as the roof opens :) :D LOVE IT.

Then two stops later my wife gets out shuts the door and the mirror glass falls out and hits the Tarmac  I guess I better get on eBay and get a new one.

Fitted mine today using the soldering route like many others, fairly easy job and means a good connection is guaranteed so there should be no issues.

Mega pleased with it not sure why I never bought one before, a must have mod for any zed vert owner.

I Have been out for a few spins today and showing off with it and excuse haha

Thanks for organising Group Buy
