Great to see so many people getting on this, what's the best connection for fitting? I have heard the standard ones aren't great! I don't really want to solder it if possible

If you don't want to use the scotch locks supplied the only other way is to solder it, which is the only way imo.

I haven't im afraid, as I simply have them at work.

Something similar to KayJay's post above would do, but it doesnt need to be waterproof. The only problem with that is that you probably havent got the correct tool to crimp them.

You won't need them connectors, there is not a lot of room behind the console. Soldering is the only way to insure good connections!

Don't use the scotch blocks provided or you be doing the install again due to broken wires or loose connections :?

You can use crimped bullet connectors.

You can use what method you want but personally I didn't want to cut my loom!

I would never use the supplied scotch blocks on anything!!

I'm an electrical engineer and these scotch block connectors should be wiped off the face of the earth IMO they are a cause of so many electrical issues.

Soldering is the best way to connect retrofit wires in the automotive sector...

I don't want to cut my loom either, can you solder on the wires without cutting off the loom then?

Is there a how too anywhere?

Your have to slice the wire loom with a Stanley knife, wrap the new wire around the loom wire you just exposed, then solder & tape over the joint!

Before you do that disconnect the battery, I didn't but I've done it more times than I can count!
