Episode 9 - Battle of The Bastards

Wow! Superb episode - end result may not have been in doubt but the cinematography for the battle scenes was amazing...
 
Loved it - from the opening scene through to the "nice doggy" bit at the end. Brilliant.

Oh and I noticed that Jon talks about "his father" in the crypt, so somehow Ned's bones have made it back? Expect there will be a bit of discussion on that one on the fan boards later....

GRRM says that the manuscripts are always too long and he has to cut out chunks to keep them down to a size his publishers are happy with. So perhaps any mention of 'The Journey of Ned's Bones' or their interment is something that ended up being cut and GRRM expected people to infer that, once the bones had been returned to Catelyn, they would then have had an uneventful journey before ending up in the family crypt at Winterfell

The last few seasons have all had a longer final episode - they've run to about 65mins instead of the 52-59 mins of normal episodes

HBO has it down as 1h15m, compared to 57mins for Ep9 - so a bit longer than previous finales...
 
S06E10 - no more for another 9 months.... :cry:

Excellent finale...

Won't say too much as I know that some people won't have seen it yet but...
- salary bill is going to be somewhat reduced next season
- I wouldn't want to upset Cersei
- Arya has 'levelled up'
- R+L does = J
- Winter is here
- The King In The North...

...and the shots at the end of the episode - can't wait for the denouement
