They probably could double the number of episodes but it would, no doubt, affect the quality of the show. According to the production team the current shows cost ~$10million per episode to make - they have up to 5 camera teams shooting each episode at locations all over the world over a five month period (and, apparently, it's a logistical nightmare), then they have to do all the post-production work.

I dare say if they thought that they could make 12/13 quality episodes per season, they would do so (I doubt if the financial side would be a stumbling block now it's a success)

Well after a scene-setting, character reacquainting with a little twist at the end first episode, last night's second episode was superb - Ramsay Bolton is turning into one of the most evil characters ever to grace the screen... and I loved the casual violence of the Frankenmountain...


...such a pity the seasons are only 10 episodes long....

- felt like a bit of a filler but nice to see The Hound back on form

Next week's episode is called 'Battle of The Bastards' so I think we can see what that's going to centre on...
 
So... what's the betting Ned Stark comes back as a White Walker once Winterfel freezes over...
 
Can't - he's a bag of bones (from series 1/2/3) when he was due to be returned to Winterfell... zombie01.gif

EDIT: Not that he's made it back to Winterfell yet, he's en-route still, since series 3, in the company of the Silent Sisters.

I thought he was now being kept down in the cellar with the other relatives - as thought I remember Sansa went to visit in one episode

This is a good reference site - no mention of Ned's Bones for some time now, in either the books or the series.
