G29 Z5

I know it's only a test car but it does look a bit dull reminds me of a Toyota celica , I hope the final one looks nothing like this .what a shame :(

What I want to know is how they know it's a BMW?!
The simple answer is probably because they saw it come out of the BMW compound...

Along with a number of other manufacturers, BMW have a cold weather testing facility in Arjeplog, Sweden - all their test cars are kept in BMW's secure compound and the photographers see them driven out and can follow/get pics etc.

Judging by the light positions which I doubt they would disguise it looks very similar in size to an E89 to me, which is a surprise as I thought they'd go smaller as an alternative to the MX5, especially as fairly big engines are out of favour.

Be interesting to see it in sales spec.

Just seen this post

First spy shots of the e89s replacement!

Don't fancy a soft top - too easy to cut into and steal from. That does look like a temporary roof though (no back window!) so maybe there's still hope.

Other sites talk of 3, 4 and 6 cylinder engines - I doubt any news site really knows.

Nobody really knows the specs, and there could be anything under that camo - I bet it looks nothing like that when it's done. I just hope to god they let Alpina and the M division loose on this one...

Maniac - they don't know, it could be a Toyota :P

Interesting. Working with Toyota is a new one. The gt86 is god awful and slow.

I thought the GT86 got pretty positive reviews? Evo, Top Gear, Autocar, Auto Express etc all have it at 4/5 or better. I think it's aimed at 'a bit of fun coupe' rather than 'supercar beating toyota q-car'

There's a few knocking about on my base and the lads say there getting rid soon. Said they have no confidence going into any corner.

4 cylinder turbo? No thanks!!

For me BMWs are all about the glorious NA straight sixes they've always been famous for. Looks like I'll be picking my BMWs from the secondhand and classic car pages from now on...

Doesn't look like it'll be any kind of looker although it could increase the value of the E86 / E86 models as they will become even more desirable depending on how ugly this thing is.

Hopefully it's all false panels and I will live in hope that a stunner is living underneath but not really holding my breath following the E89.

Nice find

Four pot turbo. Nooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bigger than e89 Nooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!

Do like the basic propurtions. Lovely long bonnet. Short over hangs. drivers seat over the rear axel. All good signs.

Just not the 11:10 ths Scale.

How long before it's in Evo then??

Seems to have shrunk in those pictures, very happy with that. :D

Fingers crossed for a proper fun little sports car.
