G29 Spotted

I don’t recall seeing a previous “spotted” thread for the G29? Apologies if this is covered elsewhere but I saw one on the road today and as I’ve not seen one for ages, thought it was worth a mention. The G29 is a rare breed!

Mediterranean Blue travelling out of Wigan this afternoon. Not sure what model but think the dark blue is available on the Sport models? Looked very nice coming towards me and I did give a small wave. If it’s someone on here

About time we had a 'spotted' thread, it's been mooted before but nothing happened.

Strange thing is that I saw a G29 (apart from mine) today on the A6 just travelling just south of Loughbrough. San Francisco red.

That makes it about 4 that I have seen on the road since they were launched last year.

A lot of people don't know what they are missing.

Really?

Here in Belgium i've seen at least 10 different ones still waiting to see the dark blue one in real life, i think i've seen al the other ones :)

Not sure there will be many posts on here as they seem to be very rare but will be good to note any other forum members.
The only other one I’ve seen around is a 69 plate Misano blue 30i. It seems to visit a house about five mins from mine and is often parked on the main road or in a side street. Two wheels were curbed, the second time I saw it.

Other than that, I haven’t seen any others at all.

When you saw it was a blonde woman driving it?

I’m quite close to you and saw my first Misano blue one last week!

I’ve never seen it being driven. It comes and goes and can then be parked up for days on end. I haven’t seen it for over a month now.
Whereabouts are you Sladestar100?

Black G29 (not sure what model) let me out of petrol station today in Bolton. Gave them a wave. Stayed behind me for a bit and occupants seemed to be pointing and talking about my car? Black Z looked very nice in my mirrors!

I have only seen one about a month ago in Bromley on the road. Was a black M Sport 3.0. They do seem to be rare, i wonder how many have been sold in the UK, as lots for sale on Autotrader with the majority being brand new/pre reg/ or cars with less than 1,500 miles on them.

A 19 plate 30i in San Francisco red at Homebase this morning. I met the owner, who was very friendly.
Completely forgot to mention the forum :headbang: to see if he was a member or knew about it.

Too excited to see the car and another SFR really weren’t you

It certainly took me by surprise. Drove in minding my own business and there it was. Couldn’t believe there was another one, let alone a red one.

The guy walked over and the first thing he said was ‘well you’ve ruined this for me now. I thought i had the only red one around here’. :D

A lovely looking white 30i passed me yesterday south bound towards Wetherby on the A1 at about 17:15, the first and only one in a 300 mile journey!

I have to admit that SFR was my second color choice for my Z. Here in the USA, at least near Memphis, TN, there are very few examples of the G29 Z4. I've only seen maybe 6-8 since they came out a few years ago. "Sports cars" are not very popular in the States apparently, other than Mustangs and Corvettes and other USA built "muscle cars". I've seen more Corvettes than G29 Z4s; probably more than all the Z4 models together! I suppose some of us yanks do not appreciate the finer things.....a fully equipped Mustang with its huge V8 can be had for less $ that a Z4. I'm sure that's part of the reason. However, I had a 2019 Mustang, and I think my Z4 is worth 10 of those! It's not just HP figures, which is mainly what sells cars in the USA. Oh yeah, that and cup holders.

Spotted a white Zed today with a personalised plate started L88 I think it was. Around lunch time on the A325 flyover in Frimley, Surrey.
Caught it out the corner of my eye at the last second. Didn’t see what model it was
First I’ve seen in weeks!

Spotted a 2019 BMW Z4 M4.0i in Misano Blue with Black Pack at Shackletons Garden Centre in Chatburn this morning. Parked nearby so they could spot me. I wonder if they got confused on returning to their car? :D

When I returned the G29 had gone but an E85 had parked next to us.

Nice to see Z4 out today. Most convertibles we spotted en route had their roofs up! Don't understand buying one and then not dropping the roof whenever you get a nice day. It wasn't even that hot today up here so that's not an excuse.

I do not get this. Every opportunity recently to have to roof down even for short drives.

I’m loving your socially distanced parking - nicely done

Have you not experienced a day yet where you've had the roof down for 2 hours already, and then you concede that you have to close it a) because you're becoming sunburnt. b) because its so bloody hot you need the benefit of cold Air-Con.

I'm afraid I've been there and it is embarrassing
