It isn't necessarily the size of tyre :? its more likely the brand , PSS & PS4S are woefully behind the competiiton when it comes to road noise in the cabin from the tyres .

New Conti’s grip at least as well, if not better, and have much less road noise. PSS and Conti 7’s back to back, would pick the Conti’s every time

Can’t comment on relative performance of PSS on G29 but the PS4S on the E89 was outclassed by the Conti Sports 7, grip was at least equal if not better, ride was better, feedback from Contis was much better…every dog has its day..
