The obvious question is... what made you get rid of it?

Truthfully? The price I got for it meant I made a profit after putting nearly 9,000 miles on it. So I ordered a brand new one which is arriving in a couple of months. Added driver assistance pack too for good measure.

I bow to you sir :hattip:

Awwww thanks. Killing me not having a drop top in this weather, but it’s worth the wait for a new car.
Also, I’ve isolated for last week and now have covid so another 10 days. Miss most of the good weather ;)

I wish that I had as visibility out of the passenger side isn't too good and the blind spot thingie is quite useful.

I much preferred BMW's old policy of pick & mix optional extras as the current packages tend to be things that I would like mixed with things I don't care about. I bought the parking assistant package but all that I wanted was the reversing camera but that came packaged with the awful lane change warning facility that forcibly drags you back into your lane when pulling out to overtake which I have now switched off and I don't trust the parking assistant enough to use it anyway

See Ian, I quite like the packs. Gives you a lot of spec for your money.

The lane departure thing is standard on the g29 m40i (maybe all g29). I just disabled all of it except rear parking intervention and collision detection.

I’ve never had blind spot detection until my current electric car. I find it quite useful. Also looking forward to adaptive cruise control.

That's another thing with limited appeal for me as it's more suitable for motorway driving which I do very little of nowadays

Ian, I was very much of the same opinion as my nearest motorway is 75 miles away but I have to say on my recent 4 hr trip back from Inverness, where it was all A class single carriageway, I had it on almost all of the way and it was fantastic. Coming to corners etc because the traffic in front was slowing down so was I. I’ve done that drive many times and actually commented that it was probably the most relaxed I’d felt after it and I think the ACC was the biggest contributor to that

Andy, I'm guessing that you don't have any kids. There are three of us so my car won't be used for long runs and will spend most of it's life pootllng around town. I did do a 300 mile round trip to darkest Surrey last weekend in the Z4 as wifey who is a nurse was working all weekend. I suppose that adaptive cruise control would have been useful but £900 would be too expensive for such limited use although I do wish that I had the blind spot thingie

Had an email from WBAC to say my M40i First Edition has gone up in value again. A while since I last checked this. Updated valuation - 12800 miles and just over 2 years old - £40000! Such a shame this ones a keeper!! :)

Ian, between us we’ve got 6 kids

The reason we’ve got a 2 seater is we know when we’re in it we 100% are guaranteed that none of the little darlings can come with us and we have our own wee space.

I haven’t had time to look at and play with any of the tech yet as other things have taken priority atm but I’ll need to have a look at the blind spot thing, along with everything else

6 kids? When do you find time to do anything else?

Nice looking M40I white with red interior, 2000 miles on the clock going through BCA tomorrow

That’s why a bloody two seater is so important

Tbf time on our own is fairly restricted which is why we’re finding it difficult to get to runs/meets and we’ve one returning to university in August and one starting for the first time at the start of September so time has become more precious again for the next wee while

10 mile well spec’d M40i at almost new money but due to availability and small deletions not the worst if you’re looking for this spec
