Anyone else spotted these? Look cheap at the moment and not long to go.

Am tempted but suppose they are quite an old style now with little tyre tread.

Probably give £150 for the alloys due to their condition and refurb requirements but good find all the same for someone. 8)
 
I'll probably get these if they stay under £250.

Give em a recon, swap my tyres over (have an automatic tyre machine now, so free :D :D ), recon my 108's and easily recoup the costs, money towards a treat from ESS ;) :D

£205 is a great price, I was tempted myself, just for a spare set :oops:
I'll just get mine refurbed this summer :) (it'll probably cost more than £200 :| )
 
Tell us more about that tyre machine. Is that for personal use with all the balancing etc???

But an older one, late 90's probably.

Back in '98 or so my brother worked at a tyre fitters and used pretty much the same machines, very good and were thousands new. We opted for an older good brand than a new cheaper one that might have expensive parts or fall apart after a few uses.


We haven't got any balancing gear yet, but at least most tyre places won't damage wheels just balancing them, and also don't charge the lions share of £20 to do it.

We may yet source some balancing gear too, those old balance ones look like they are worth a try. Maybe not as sophisticated as modern ones, but most places just stick weighs in one place anyway (axial offset the same), rather than doing an off-axis balance properly.


Just makes life easier. Will see what these 107's are like, if they are pretty good I'll probably just rough them back and recoat in proper Deutsch Silver and two pack laquer, if they look a bit rough, I'll treat myself and take them to be professionally re-done, swap my FK452's onto them, then take the 108's to get done too, then sell them on as reconditioned.

-£250 recon 108's (painted all over)
+£400-£450 sell 108's, so maybe £200-250 down for as good as new 107's, is alot better than £850 for brand new ones!

+ points are, longer term, the 107's are just easier to work with. Single piece and no corrosion worries, and also longer term, the more 'classic' Z4 wheel imho. Seem rarer too.
