Fun with turning off the DTC...

Press it once, DTC lights up to tell you traction control is off, but stability control stays on.

Hold it down and the other thing (sign of certain death! :D ) lights up meaning both are off and you're on your own. :driving: 8)

No lights DTC and DSC are both on and, in theory, you can't crash..

I should have read my manual in more depth. I thought I had been switching DSC ON when illuminating the icon on the dash. :headbang:

Nothing wrong with an Auto i love mine :D cannot see why they are more to insure apart from the fact you used get some people knock them into drive by accident but with modern Autos its hard to do.

Tax was higher for the Auto over £400  but seems OK now

Never turn off driving aids not got the skills if it all goes wrong and i worked to hard to buy this car

Please don't tell me the SMG has launch control! I will be going through diffs and tyres quicker than Vanessa Phelps eats donuts. :|

Yep, DSC off, stood still, go WOT and it'll rev to 4000rpm and then dump the clutch, woosh, leave the foot WOT and the 1st to 2nd shift is VERY brisk. I've been in a CSL on fast shifts and the Z4 SMG in fast mode feels every bit as brisk!

I was surprised they were more too. I had assumed that auto drivers would be less likely to drive in a more aprited manor? I am guessing (and this on not supposed to be a reflection on anyone here - obviously all z4 drivers are of superior standard) that in general auto drivers are less competent? hence more claims, and higher premiums? Can't see the parts prices being the reason as the gearbox is rarely damaged in a bump.
