When my wife "Debby" and I were planning a visit to her parents in Arkansas, I contacted Mason Green in Natchez, Mississippi about the possibility of a visit and some drives if we could stop over night. He and his wife Debbie were really excited! They have attended Homecoming in Spartenberg 2001 thru 2007. Mason goes by the screen name of "blaZen" and Debbie "gypZdago" on ROADFLY. I gave him Z4-Forum as a place he will be able to chat with his many Homecoming friends and find many new US and International Z4 owners that are happy to share their DIY and pictures.
On with the photos -
Arriving at the Green's home -
Manson with his Z4M Roadster and my Z4 3.0 (with Z4M wheel and tire set) -
My Debby and Debbie Green -
We wasted no time getting back in our Zs and driving the old Downtown streets of Natchez with our tops down. One of the many beautiful "Antebellum" homes in Natchez -
One of the Gambling River Boats along the Mississippi side of the River - this one on the historic Natchez lower river road -
Traveling down to a vacant park for "Beauty Shots" of our Z4s !
We wondered if our friend Mark "2Zero" was piloting that knid of boat. His Z4M Roadster would have been a great addition!
As the sun went down in the west, special light effects brought out the color of Black Sapphire Metallic on our Z4s -
Getting too dark to light up the Chris Bangle's "Flame" design, the sun behind our cars presented a wonderful new way to view them -
After a great Catfish Dinner on the river, we went back to the Green's house where Debbie was kind enough to give my Z4 her car's spot in the garage -
No pics of our nice evening or Debbie's great breakfast, served with the poise of a Food Channel celebrity - We headed out the next morning, Mason rideing with me and Debbie driving their Z4M with my wife -
I gave up the camera to my wife Debby for this shot and the pictures that follow of our beautiful drive to Vicksberg, MS.
The "Natchez Trace Parkway" is a National Park Service Historic Road that begins at Natchez, Mississippi and goes to Jackson, MS then north again from Ridgeland, MS to Interste 40 outside Nashville, A speed limit of 50 MPH and no commercial vehicles keeps it always a pleasure to drive. Patrolled by Federal Park Service Police officers.
We drove the trace about 20 miles north towards Vicksberg, Mississippi -
Getting off the trace, we drove north some more on MS HWY 552N - an little know stretch of twisting and curving country backroad.
Entering the lower city limits of Historic Vicksberg, MS on the Mississippi River -
Crossing the Mississippi River - That's the Railroad Bridge to the right -
Saying "GoodBye" A at the Lousiana side of the Vicksberg bridge across the Mississippi. Debby and I drive on to Vilonia, Arkansas.
A really great time with some really special friends that we have met while enjoying our BMW Z4!
Thanks Mason & Debbie!
Best!
Jack
