Fun and games Tuned 28i (14) Vs Honda S2000 (03)

He must have been expecting it & been in the right gear, in a normal roll on comparison it wouldn't stand a chance as they need a ton of revs to perform :driving:

Thats rubbish. I have had 4 S2000,s and they are light and nimble. Sit on the tail of all the Z4 Range fairly easily. would struggle with the 35is as the numbers pushed higher. The S2000 is a fantastic drivers machine when pushed

Agreed, the S2000 is a legendary roadster and not to be underestimated at all....

It's not rubbish, the torque figures speak for themselves-the Honda needs revs :poke:

I've just moved from an s2000. It is a great car, but completely dead under 6500 rpm.....you really need to rev it hard to get rewards. If you can keep it spinning in the correct rev band, it is really really rewarding. ...and that noise. Dam...missing my S2000 now

I really like the S2000, but when I test drove one my shoulder was pressed against the drivers side window. So that was that lol

Have to say, I sold my S2000 and went to a Z4M for 2 1/2 years, now back in the very same S2000, bought it back at a premium :( Also previously had a Supercharged Z4 3.0i way back in 2005.

Perhaps not the fastest weekend toy, but my god it's by far the most fun I've had. No idea what I could replace it with without spending 40k plus. Regarding performance, ignore the 0-60 times, it's impossible to launch in the VTEC, once above 6000rpm performance is more than quick enough for the road oh and the noise!

Not a great daily though, Zed better at that. If I could only have one car and it had to be the Zed and S2000, definitely be the Z4M, but as a drivers car, definitely the S2000, with some mild tweaks ;)

Only back on here as I'm interested in whether the new Z4 is going to be a real drivers car. Certainly has my interest looks wise.

The ///MR revs out pretty nicely to the red line, once it kicks at 4.5k. That Honda engine must be pretty special for you to be missing it.

I had an S2000 as my daily driver, my ///MC as weekend toy and a Westfield as a track car. I must enjoy having my teeth broken :D

The S2000 is a very special car. It has the best gear shift I've encountered in any car (including several Porsches, a couple of Lotuses and a Ferrari) and it is immensely easy to control slides with the throttle, far more so than the snappy Zed. I'd love another but I'd want it to have been undersealed from new and I'd insist on a supercharger and a decent exhaust. I only sold mine as I was emigrating so one of my cars had to go.

Ha, funny you should say that, that's why I sold mine. Sadly the move fell through and I bought the Z4M, which don't get me wrong, I thoroughly enjoyed, but I nagged my old neighbor (who I sold it to) for years to sell it back. Finally he relented, thank god. 2005 with just 53k miles. Red too :) Aged way better than the E85 looks wise IMO.

We must have very similar tastes, I've also had a Westifled, a 2.0 Zetec on TB's. Brilliant fun, but also quite scary on the open road, too many close calls and my nearest track is 120 miles away, that's when I moved onto the 3.0i Z4 and ended up supercharging it.

I wouldn't use my Westy on the road now (although I used to all the time), I've had too many close calls too.
I've been hankering for a supercharger for my Zed for years but other things always seem to take priority. This year, it's my wedding.
My fiancée agreed that she'd buy me a Stage II ESS setup if I bought her a big diamond. At least that's how I remember it. She remembers agreeing with me that I should buy the ring and then pay for the wedding too :headbang:
