I had a bloke who really lost the plot big time with me when I was in my Disco 3, he deparately wanted to get past and stop me - I was out on narrow dales roads and was able to block him as he tried inside and outside overtakes - The fella was going ballistic even hanging out of his window. It got to the point when I gave consideration to allow him to get along side and putting him into the ditch. ( using reasonable force as he was using his van as a weapon?)

Mrs K phoned 999 it was that bad. He must have suddenly calmed down as he seemed to vanish - I assume as he saw her on the phone.

There are some hot heads on the roads now - is it just how society has moved after watching too many action movies - or is it drink / drugs ?

Yes, but for what reason? Sounds like we're only hearing half the story.

Its endemic when u drive zed unfortunately.
Even over here in normally easy-going Holland I've been chased down, pursued, cut up, tailgated and generally abused by other road users more times than i care to remember.

This one time and elderly chap pursued me for about 20km from the motorway all the way to my local petrol station. He was livid because he had the totally misconstrued belief that I had cut him up while entering a 2km long offramp.

The veins in his forehead were literally bursting he was so enraged!

It was a bit of a gamble but I apologised for his distress and offered to give him a hug. He looked eager to throw his fists around up to that point but it just threw him for six!

Best course of action is not to respond to aggressiveness and certainly dont escalate the situation by stopping and getting into an argument.

Narrow fell road and I’d pulled off the road to let him in the oncoming car thro, yet still he thought I could have done more. He shouted and responded appropriately - verbally. He didn’t like my reply - he blew up and got a light punch on my car - it was then I decided to get away pdq- he followed. A big nasty bloke in a rage - that’s why I didn’t want to stop!
I also had my 18month old granddaughter in the car.

If he couldn’t pass me - he couldn’t stop me and thus any physical confrontation would be avoided!
He had the red mist I’m sure !
