Full lock whistle

Hoping one of our knowledgeable members can tell me if this is normal. I've only notice it when the roof is down given its not very loud. But when I turn a corner on full steering lock (usually on exiting my work car park or pulling onto my drive) I can hear a faint whistle. If I'm stationary and on full lock and 'bounce' the steering wheel, a slightly louder whistle is apparent. Is this normal? I'm assuming it's something to do with the hydraulic steering. I've not worked out yet how to gets tune out of it!

Heard this a bit. like a whining that something is struggling a bit?
I guessed it was the hydraulic pump trying to pump against the hard stop of the rack, and thought that it wasn;t a problem, but just drive round it a bit.
This is not scientific, I've not had it apart to check, and I believe the Coupe rack is better than sorry, different to the roadster.
It's just my deductions from wot I lernt at skool/ as a service engineer for industrial things with hydraulics in.
You should hear some of the noises a bailing press makes when working normally.

Phew - thanks both. That's put my mind at rest.

Right, it's 1pm on Sunday afternoon. Im off to get my own pressure relief!
