Full beam flicker

So another problem, sigh!
So I have the oem xenons and but when I put the full beams (halogen) on, it looks like the xenons are flickering a lot, so much so I can't use full beam and it's too annoying.
Not having had xenons before, what might it be? The ballasts? Dodgy connection?

Are both lights doing this, or just one? If just one, swapping ballast, bulbs and ignitors around, in turn, would help identify the issue (usually water ingress or bulbs at the end of their life). Also, is it the Xenon's or the H7 full beam bulbs that are flickering?

I think you need to do more diagnostics.
Is it the halogen bulb or the xenon flickering? One side or both?
I suggest cover different parts of the lights and see what is flickering.
Since xenon is the same bulb for dipped and main it not going to be bulb, ballast, etc. If it's both sides.
I suspect the halogen is at fault either bulb breaking down or water ingress related shorting.

Pretty sure it's the xenons flickering as it's the white light that's coming on and off rather than the yellow. I noticed last night actually that the xenons seem to randomly change height to sometimes being very short throw and then randomly long when on dipped beam.

Right so further to this, if I put full beam on when stationary they're fine, however as soon as I start driving over bumps the main beam flickers!
Last night however I put on full beam to test and it was fine, until a hit a big bump and then flicker again!
Could it be a connection problem?

Had same problems, it was loose xenon bulb, probably somone fitted replacement before and haven't clipped in place properly.

Are they actually flickering, or just changing height rapidly? Check the link rods between the suspension and the levelling sensors haven't come adrift. If one has, it could cause this.

There is one for the front and another for the rear, they look like these..

Cheers Mike, I'll try and check!
The thing is, with dipped beam on the xenons seem to stay fine and level which is why I kinda discounted the angle sensors?

You may want to check the mountings inside the headlight as well - the Xenon units are held in place with four bolt/nut arrangement. If one of those has broken or come loose, the unit would vibrate. Also the clip that holds the D2S bulb in place should be checked (seen in this photo)

I had exactly the same issue with an old fiesta & it turned out to be the main beam relay-I'm not sure if the z4 even uses the same technology but if it does I would look there.
