I managed 500 miles from a single tank, no idea what the MPG was but as I normally get 220-270 I was quite impressed

constant 65mph, 3.0si

Thats 42mpg and is impressive, its what im aiming for..

I managed to get 39mpg on a long trip (Newcastle upon tyne to Perranport and back) which was 950miles, mostly motorway at 75ish on cruise, except the hour of crawling traffic trying to get out of devon on the way home

Well unfortunately over the course of the tank I wasnt able to hit the 500 miles I had hoped for. I do think I had about 11.5 gallons to start with.

I managed 426 miles (418 clocked plus 8 left on the range) before I parked at work this morning. Predominantly doing 65-70mph on the M4 / M40 & M25 but as with commuting there were often queues, jams, etc.
This gives me a calculated mpg of 37mpg

This consisted of:

Fri PM 29 miles motorway + 3 miles local (M40 + M25 + M4)
Sat 6 miles local
Sun 26 miles local + 180 miles motorway (M4)
Mon AM 3 miles local + 29 miles motorway (M4 + M25 + M40)
Mon PM 29 miles motorway + 3 miles local (M40 + M25 + M4)
Tues AM 3 miles local + 29 miles motorway (M4 + M25 + M40)
Tues PM 29 miles motorway + 3 miles local (M40 + M25 + M4)
Wes AM 3 miles local + 29 miles motorway (M4 + M25 + M40)

Giving me a total of
50 miles local
354 miles motorway
(I know this doesnt quite add up to 426 I must have added a few miles here and there local is all I can presume)

Overall im a little disappointed but if it had all been good moving motorway driving I think I would have managed about 450..

I know its a terrible piccie, but this was me on my way to my 511 mile tank

if you can't make it out I've done 90miles (about one notch down on the fuel) and 410 miles range showing



I must admit I used to laugh at some of the mileage/MPG claims, but with a large amount of boring driving it is possible
