Fuel filter location

Hi all,

New to the Z4 forums -checked all the ‘How To’ section’ but unable to locate any info on file filter location & if a nightmare to replace etc. I have a 2013 (face lift) 4-pot E89.

I presume it’s in the fuel tank, but struggling to confirm. Unable find any info on on google-is it one of these things I should only replace only if having issues? (I’m not, but don’t believe it’s ever been replaced). I also presume it’s a long canister style one (similar to heat the E46 6cycl used to use).

Any info would be appreciated.

Looking at TIS this looks like its location assuming item 4 carbon canister is fuel filter

It's inside the fuel tank, i wouldn't worry about.
You need to get the prop shaft and exhaust off.
Clever design.

Pelican parts is a great source of information.
Its supposed to be a "lifetime filter" but we all know what that means - suppose it depends where you fill up too.
