Fuel filler door.

Just wondering has anyone removed the fuel filler door, if so do you have any tips to remove it, I'm not local to the car at the moment so I'm unable to check if their is a pin or whatever holding it on. cheers in advance.

I replaced the painted outer on mine when it got dented at a fuel stop :headbang:

Very easy to remove the outer cover from the hinge by sliding plastic tabs on the rear IIRC then slide the cover off. No need to force anything but the tabs are not obvious at first.

I've heard its a git... why do you want it off?

a good friend offered to airbrush a very cool design of an alloy fuel cap on the outside, this guy is insanely talented and i had to accept the offer, for a small fee of course. As this item is removable and replaceable why not??? ill post some detailed pics when it gets back, it think it could look totally cool or utterly pants.

That's more disassembly than is required to take off just the painted cover rather than the whole assembly, just untab the plastic clips on the back and slide it off
