Fuel filler cap

Really enjoying the ride after putting the 3.0L back on the road after some 16 months.
Pulled in to get some fuel opened the filler flap and it went sorta"twang" and is now floppy with no pressure allowing it to just flap in the breeze litterally.
Has anyone had the mechanism out and is there a DIY thread somewhere on removal of the mechanism

This turned out to be an easy fix
Post had snapped off one end of the spring mouint
drilled and screwd
