Fuel door

I went for gas today and wasn’t able to open the fuel filler door. Luckily I was able to make it home. I have looked in the trunk for the emergency release and couldn’t locate it. I ended up finding the green knob with the fuel door symbol and it wasn’t connected to anything. Can anyone tell me where it should be connected? Above the loose green knob in the picture is a black plastic round piece, would anyone know what that is for? I gave it a pull and it connects to a cord. I tried the fuel door while pulling on the black circular piece and no luck yet. I am hesitant to pull too hard not knowing if it is the right cord to release the fuel door
:headbang:

Found it,
The green knob broke from the cable which releases the fuel door. To access the cable, remove the plastic tail light cover in the trunk

You should find the pull knob behind the trunk liner by where the quarter panel meets the tail lights.
Hope this helps the next guy.
Now... why didn’t the soloniod work?
How is it related to my passenger door that stopped unlocking or opening a couple days ago?

Possible

Have you had any gm5 module related things happening- like car doors locking but not unlocking on the remote?

I wouldn't be surprised if this issue and the passnger door lock problem you mentioned above are related to your thread about "parasitic battery drain".

BMWs seem to be prone to all sorts of weird electrical gremlins if the battery gets low.

Hopefully you can get to the bottom of the parasatic drain, which may solve the locking problems.
