Hi All

Now the Z has gone I have a few bits to sell. Namely:
ZHP Gearknob - in as new condition - no marks whatsoever. £35 inc postage.
Dension Gateway 300 iPod Connector - again, in as new condition with all cables, brackets etc (I never mounted the box so the brackets and screws are unused). It worked perfectly with my BMW Business CD player. £100 posted.
Mangowalk stubby - aka the Official Forum Stubby - £3 posted, or free if anyone buys the other bits.
I've also got a set of four Star Spoke 104 16" wheels - my original wheels which I replaced with the 108's. I do need to clean them but they should be in very good nick with no major marks on them. They all have Bridgestone runflats on them, with a good amount of tread - I can get an exact figure when I clean them. No idea what these are worth so I'm open to offers on these.

Thanks for reading.

si, where abouts are you?

if the wheels were the right price and the tread on the tyres is ok i might be interested just to have a spare set for if my 108's need work.

pics would be good

Hi - sorry, should've said - I'm in Barnsley, South Yorkshire (actually midway between Barnsley and Wakefield).

Happy to do some pics but no point until I get chance to clean them up - which will be Sunday. I'll post some pics then and get the depth gauge on 'em.

As far as I know, the standard Ipod connecter from BMW fools the stereo into thinking the iPod is a six-disc changer. You have to set up six playlists on the iPod for each CD, and no track information is displayed.

The Dension allows you to navigate your iPod from the headunit or MFSW if present, you can browse artists, albums, playlists etc, and track names are displayed on the headunit.

Hope that helps. If anyone has more information on the OEM iPod connection then please do post.

The Dension is also very easy to fit yourself - took me about 20 minutes total.

Edit: As to where it goes, it plugs into the back of the OEM headunit and i routed the cable into the glove compartment. It will also accept a USB stick as well as an iPod.

Hi,

Will the Dension charge an iphone? Can't get a definitive answer from their site so hoping you may have tried!?

Thanks,
Glenn

I never plugged my iphone in so I can't speak from experience - but I believe you need an adaptor to charge it as Apple changed something in the latest gen iphones / ipods.
Hope that helps.

Edit: Found this link: http://dension.com/index.php?pageID=234 which implies it will (as it isn't one of the older products listed), but I can't confirm that.

So if i plug a generic cheap USB stick in it.. it will let me change songs via the sterio and see which song plays still ?

I would be interested in the stubby if i'm not too late. Please let me know.

Thanks

Hi Wayne.

Stubby has gone - sorry. ZHP has also gone.
Just the Dension and the Wheels left.

Just to say, I'm using the Dension 300 and am very impressed! Tucked away in the glovebox, running a spare iPod... have over 100 albums available. Probably been a month since I last removed it. Mine seems a little fussy with my iPod Touch, but that's not really for the car. Basic use, IIRC, select CD changer...
Disk 1 - playlists
Disk 2 - artists
Disk 3 - albums
Disk 5 - songs
It displays the text on screen and you can scroll through using the < > buttons on the headunit of MFSW.

Works well with the USB drive - although I stopped using that as I have a lot of iTunes music with DRM, that wont play  Obviously these are fine on an iPod.

If you have the standard Business CD it's well worth the money, deserves to be snapped up IMO
(if you have nav I'd be looking at Intravee)

EDIT: Just to add, if you have DSP you may need an additional adapter. Forgot that bit, as I don't have one :|
