FS: Z4M (£475) & SE (£175) Seats >>>>>>>>>

so i always thought a dutch auction was the process whereby people bought things - getting vendors to bid against each other - so that the price went down

never heard it in the context of getting buyers to bid against each other to make the price higher - that just sounds like a normal auction.

I guess the 'put off' is the changing of the bases - i found this when i advertised the Amarone M seats

I dont think you can change only the electric parts - you have to change the whole base meaning you have a M seat 'back' and a standard seat 'bottom'

I think?

The seat "rails" containing the motors (on electric seats) etc are inter-changeable between sports and non-sport seats, you basically swap the foam bases over from one to the other. I did this with my sports seats, it isn't too bad a job really.

Maybe if you change the parts first and then sell it...?

I think this would be the best way forward...

And perhaps use some of that stuff that Maniac got to clean up the damage ...

The only thing that puts me off is that theyre not heated - I wsnt M seats so much i even dont mind the colour.. no problem with reupholstering it in black with red stiches :)

Thanks, but just to confirm this means i would be left with a standard seat base and a M seat back?

No mate, you will end up with a full M seat and a full standard seat. The mechanical side of the seat (below the seat base cushion) is the same for both. Basically you remove the seat bases (foam and leather) and swap them over, then reattach the seat back to the new base.

I did exactly that with the assistance of the guide I posted the link to.

Here is a picture half way through the swap :)
