***NOW SOLD***
I'm selling my 4 newly refurbed 18" 108-style alloy wheels fitted with Bridgestone Potenza RE050A run-flat tyres.
Edited to add: looking for £500 but open to offers to get these shifted before Christmas. Next day delivery using a company I've used before (http://www.paisleyfreight.com) works out at:
£32 to the UK (usual patter about Highlands and Islands, IoM and IoW costing more)
£54 to Northern Ireland
£64 to Ireland
or I'm in Falkirk (central Scotland) if you want to collect - I also have a van and could meet up somewher if that helps, because obviously 4 alloys don't fit in a Z4 boot
Wheels:
- BMW 108-style "Composite Star" alloy wheels.
- Manufactured by BBS for BMW.
- 2-piece split-rim design.
- Front: 18" x 8J ET47.
- Rears: 18" x 8.5J ET50.
- I've tried to show up the worst aspects of each wheel, just so I'm being completely honest!
- There is NO kerbing whatsoever on the wheels - the edges are perfect having been refurbed and not driven on since.
- The wheels can be split into 2 pieces: the inner "star" section, and the outer "rim" section.
- The outer sections have recently been refurbed, having been split into two parts and refurbed properly: old lacquer removed, any corrosion removed, repolished to mirror finish, several thin layers of spray paint followed by clear satin-finish lacquer (with outer lip masked off), outer lip repolished, wheels reassembled and bolts re-torqued correctly.
- The inner stars are painted silver with a gloss lacquer (they're the original finish and didn't require refurbing - there's some dirt on the rear of the spokes that you'll see in the photos).
- The outer parts are part-painted and part-polished: the inner sections (the flat areas behind the spokes) are painted silver as this offers best protection against corrosion, but the outer "lip" has been left as polished metal for best apppearance.
- The polished lip is protected by several layers of wax which will need to be kept topped up, but being polished metal without lacquer the lips will need to be polished occasionally. Polishing the lips is literally a 5min-per-wheel job though.
Being completely honest, there are marks on some of wheels as follows:
Driver front:
- completely unmarked
Driver rear:
- this is the alloy in worst condition: there are some marks on the edge of the inner section where it meets the outer section
- i've tried to take photos up close and also a distance away to demonstrate how visible they are (not very!)
Passenger front:
- some marks where the tool slipped as I was trying to undo a bolt that was stuck in during the refurb process (see the marks on the centre star)
Passenger rear:
- completely unmarked
Tyres:
- Tyres are Bridgestone Potenza RE050A run-flat tyres as fitted by BMW.
- All tyres are in perfect condition with no damage and none have been punctured or repaired.
- Tyres in pictures are NOT the Bridgestones - I had different tyres fitted for the last 4,000miles but have swapped these over onto my new wheels and refitted the original tyres back onto these.
- Fronts: 225/40/R18 88W
- Rears: 255/35/R18 90W
- Front left: 4.0mm
- Front right: 4.5mm
- Rear left: 6.5mm
- Rear right: 4.0mm
- tyres are worn evenly across full width of tread
Congratulations for getting this far in my lengthy advert! I've tried to be comprehensive and cover everything, but don't hesitate to PM me if you have any queries and I'll get back to you as soon as I can. I'm usually on here most weekdays.
