Best option would be for you to get one of those hozelock fittings which go over the tap in the house. I can provide a small piece of hose with the fittings so that you can run the water through the filter whilst filling up the watering can.

R26Andy, the second unit lost all the sand on the first application :( (I had given it to my dad).

Could you send another one please?
 
yep, I`ll send another one.

Ive had 3 failures like this out of a few hundred units. Two have been the ones you bought, rotten luck - sorry about this :(
 
I used this for the first time yesterday and unfortunately the car is covered in water spots this morning :(

I'm sure I did it right...
 
It was very moist outside and I think your car is parked outside, right?

The "dirty" water from the air may have caused that, I think you may have to make sure you do it early in the day so it can dry, or blow dry the car.
 
Not saying that is the case but just wonder if the heavy dew last night caused water to settle with pollution in it.
 
Otherwise take a sample bottle with you on sunday and I can bring my TDS to meassure it.

Just make sure you put water in it, not, uh, the other stuff :D

If I didn't know that everyone else was raving about this I'd be thinking this was a dud

This thing can't take any water pressure whatsoever, the ends fly off constantly. Then when you get them to stay on the dribble that comes out the end is embarrassing. Then the bloody water marks are still there :evil:

If somebody doesn't enlighten me to how this thing works it will be staying in the downstairs cupboard for the rest of time and I'll be going back to the trusty towel

That is just a hozelock connection, you mean the connector comes off? Mine was from the early batch that did not have them supplied so I use the quality Gardena ones which have no issue.

I trust you did not mean that the sand come out like on mine.

The flow through my standard unit was fine, enough to sheet the car.
 
Not enlightening to most, but the rule about letting the water sheet off and not spraying is helpful to know

PVR, which blower do you use to dry the car?

I use the 110v blower from the group buy from detailing world. Not that I ever visit that site of course :oops:

Just used my second unit from original batch and the whole end piece blew off followed by some of the sand :o
