Mine has just arrived! Our janitor brought it to my office... he wondered what it was... :? :D Its much bigger than I imagined from the photos, and I'm now wondering, can you use it in one direction, then reverse it if the filter start to lose its filtering ability... does this make sense?

Can't wait to try it.

Mine arrived today as well.

Funny looks from my wife when I told her what it was, oh well :)

You should have seen the looks I was getting at the post office, particularly when handing over the single ones as I must have looked like an anne summers rep  .

Also arrived this morning .Not used yet but it certainly looks the part nice piece of work Andy
and Thanks again

must admit looked a bit like a pair of pipe ....s :)

Andy,

Just washed the car and looking forward to rinsing it with the filter but bit of a disaster I'm afraid. I turned the hose off and plugged the filter in at the end of the hose with a short length of hose going to the nozzle. Went back and turned the tap on and the end of the filter closest to the nozzle blew out along with the contents of the filter. :(

Are the ends stuck in or just a push fit?

I didn't want to try the second one for fear of the same thing happening again.

I was going to PM you but I thought the others might want to hold off using their's just in case.

Wow...oh dear this happend on my initial prototype but I thought I had resolved the problem. The end is basically a push fit into the body of the pipe - they are usually incredibly tightly mated so I didnt use any glue (regretting that now :headbang: ) , infact, I had to heat some of them up to get them to fit in so I may have over heated it and its become too loose.

You may also have higher water pressure in your area than me. Give the second one a go and crank up the pressure in the tap slowly so that its usable but try to avoid full pressure.

Relly sorry for the trouble Colin, I`ll refund the broken one or send another out (glued), and the other one if that blows too.

If everyone else tries theirs out in the same manner please, turn up the pressure gradually and try not to use them on full pressure, dont worry about them blowing, the contents isnt anything dangerous (just a bit messy) and if they break I`ll refund or send out a glued version.

Keep me updated please.

Andy

Phew! Colins 2nd one seems fine. Hopefully it was a one off!

If anyone is having any issues let me know.

Hi Andy,

I'd like a couple of these if you've got any left aswell?

:)

Hi Fraser,

Yes I do, I have just made up another batch. I can post monday if you are interested.

All, Ive managed to source some cheap connectors and from 27th October I can now supply a pack of four (2 tap connectors and 2 hose connectors - basically everthing you need to splice it in to your hose) for £1.00 extra. Apologies to those who did not get this option originally.

Ive also added labels to each filters so they look a bit more professional.

Well, I gave mine a go yesterday. Gave both cars a wash and decided to let the Z4 dry naturally. Without the filter I can guarantee that water spots would have been left, and are always pretty visible on the dark blue paintwork. Yesterday however as I dried the Audi by hand, I kept an eye on how the water was evaporating off the Z4 and not a single water mark was left.

I connected it to the end of the garden hose and let the water "sheet" off the car. It made an amazing difference to the finish. Highly recommended. :)

Did you do the same as me - i.e. you were holding the actual unit in the hand to "sheet" the water off the car?

I was thinking of making a hose connector so I could do it in-line, but actually found holding it not too much of a problem except that I could not switch off the tap :)

Oh - and I tested it on the Abarth and the black Polo.

Worked very well

Just hope it lasts now as I wash so many cars each week ...

Yes! I just held the filter in my hand and the water sheeted nicely off the car. Good idea about just connecting a standard piece of hose without any sort of end piece and let the filtered water just flow out the hosepipe.

I also hope it lasts!
