They don't look 'brand new' to me from the photo's - but then they're only 25% of the new price.

Sorry, I was in a bit of a bad mood when I posted (having a heated discussion with a consultant about the use of the word 'socialise' in a management presentation after he promised we'd be done by 6pm as he didn't want to pay for working another day - and finally finished at 11pm after an 8am start - even though I was twiddling my thumbs for half the time due to them being the bottleneck).

Anyway, look at the marks on the last photo showing the BMW logo.

I'm not claiming they look like they've been fitted to a car, but they don't look like they've just come out of a BMW parts department either. It might simply be marks from storage, or marks from test fitting, or a new bush on an older part, etc., but in my definition that means they're not brand new - but for 25% of the brand new price, you wouldn't expect them to be

Anyway, the part numbers don't seem to reconcile to anything in the BMW parts database in 11 or 7 digit forms.

Non-M e85/e86/e46 cars - about £120/side (which would make these a bargain)
  • Left - 32106777503
  • Right - 32106777504
Z4Ms - about £160/side (which would make these a bigger bargain).
  • Left - 32107837835
  • Right - 32107837836

Hi, hope today was better at work - Fridays usually are :)
I confirm that these tie rods are new genuine BMW, never fitted to a car. The marks on photo are indeed being stored in a box.
Regarding part numbers, I guess you have checked them on http://www.realoem.com website?
reaoem is great but it does not show all the numbers, especially when BMW have decided to change them.
The numbers you have provided are for the same item as described here. To be absolutely sure, I have double-checked BMW ETKA and here is a screenshot showing part numbers:
Tie%20Rods%20Full.gif.jpg
This is the complete list of items included:
Inner Tie Rod Left 32 11 1 096 897
Part Description BMW Part Number
Left Ball Joint 32 21 1 095 957
Clamp Ring 32 21 1 095 959
Hex Nut 32 11 1 094 886

Right Side Tie Rod 32 21 1 096 898
Part Description BMW Part Number
Right Ball Joint 32 21 1 095 958
Clamp Ring 32 21 1 095 959
Hex Nut 32 11 1 094 886

As you have mentioned in your posts, this item is an absolute bargain.
If you are interested, you are very welcome to examine the parts in person (in Upminster, Essex) before buying.
Thanks!

Much better today on the work front as I'd done it all yesterday evening  but does mean I lose a day's pay

The original source I used for the part numbers was my own ETK install to see if they would fit all models, or just non-Ms (as is usually the case), but it's only a 2008 version so as you say could easily be out of date, and these are the first numbers it's not found. I also drew a blank when I tried the part number on the Inchcape BMW parts website - but that could simply be due to them not having it in their system.

Thanks for clearing it up, although I'd take the price up myself :D
