FS - Genuine OEM Z4M / CSL brake pads, front

Hi All


Have a set of front OEM CSL brake pads that fit the Z4M. They were new when I bought the car, I've done only 122 motorway miles on them on new discs (so straight and true surface) and then changed over to Ferodo DS2500.

Someone bung me £50 and I'll drop them over if you're local to London, or £5 if you want them sent

Euro car parts don't sell OEM BMW parts AFAIK, they'll be textar or some other make. I believe these are GENUINE BMW (Brembo, ATE etc) pads.

Thank you. These are GENUINE BMW pads that happen to be made by Textar. These pads are for the Z4M/CSL not a 3.0si

ECP pads are made by Eicher. You can buy others of course.
 
This pad is common to the Z4M, Z3M, e46 CSL, e46 M3, e36 M3, e32 7-series.

I'm not going to comment on whether I think the price is good or bad as I think we all know dealer prices for Genuine BMW branded parts are not the same as motor factors, and whilst the pads for sale elsewhere might be identical, they won't (shouldn't) have the BMW logo on them - and who on here would honestly say they'd not pay more for a genuine BMW item over a copy from the OE manufacturer - as we don't know whether they're manufactured to an identical spec, or whether they're manufactured to fit a price-point?

BMW uses a variety of manufacturers for brake pads, discs, windscreens, electronics, etc., so you could end up with Textar one year, ATE the next, Pagid another and Brembo another - just depends on where in the contract/supply chain they are when you buy some.

Here's a screen shot of the pads in question (take your pick of manufacturer) from CarParts4Less, using my Z4MC as the reference (it's EuroCarParts sister-company, without the stupid, ever-changing discount codes).

It is very difficult to know if the EuroCarParts pads are made to the same spec as OEM. Certainly they are pattern parts, but do they have the same friction coefficient or wear rate? I have no idea - they could be better, or worse.

Obviously there are improved pads available from Pagid or Ferodo as examples - but that's a different story.

In any case, these pads have now been sold :thumbsup:
 
Bit of thread revival!

I’m looking for pads - ECP and Carparts4less seem to stock 2 different pads for the Z4M - with 0.1mm difference in thickness - different prices in them too.

Any advice on which I should be ordering?
