Currently on £500 on eBay with 6hrs to go, would love to get it but it's the wrong time on year for me

Item 280791988514

too much of a travel for me,,, reading through the ad looks like it is coming from a breakers as no mention of fitting kit (allen key really) still if it goes for that then its a good price.

Yeah no mention of the tool to fit or the covers to hide the locks but at that price could be a bargain for someone.

why does the main picture have a reflection of someone without their pants on....... you may get more that you bargined for if you win this

Nice spot, it's so hard to lure people round nowadays

The covers are less than a tenner from the dealer and the tool probably the same - even if it isn't available, an allen key and a phillips screwdriver do the job just as well, so I wouldn't be phased by such trivia.

I wouldnt say trivia its a fact these small and not very expensive parts are missing, my point was just to highlight to the buyer whom may indeed may be new to the forum and new to the Zed and not be aware they will have to pick up some additional bits. I wrote this as when I bought my hardtop the guy who sold it to be didnt even mention the covers etc.. then I just a little hassle to pick them up.

If it isn't such a pain to fit one of these like you guys say i might go for it. Think it will look okay on a silver car?
I reckon itll look ok... the hood on the roadster is black (most of the time)...

try and see, you can always get it re-sprayed :D

agree with gannet on the colour, on the same basis I bought a monaco blue hardtop for my silver car but thanks to BMW who messed up the order completely, now I am getting a titanium silver and they are paying the difference, result

A hardtop can be fitted without the covers and just an allen key?

So if one were to turn up in their Z they could just fit this and drive of if they had an allen key? Must admit im tempted at that price

All the covers do is hide what is otherwise a small rectangular gap about 3"x4" exposing the side locating lugs - they are aesthetic not functional and can be bought from the dealer for less than £10.

The proper tool is just a 90 degree bend with an allen key at one end (that secures the windscreen mount with a 90 degree turn) and the other end is a round shaft that goes through the two side mounting spigots so that they can also be turned 90 degrees inn towards the centre of the car. So you can do EXACTLY the same thing with an allen key of the roight size and a medium sized phillips screwdriver. NO hassle whatsoever. I've done it several times that way when the right tool has gone astray so I don't know what all the fuss is about frankly.

dont want to dampen anyones chances of picking up a on first looking a bargin (is there really such a thing)....

But if you look at the sellers feedback this item was bought on the 14th Dec for 925 and then returned....

Oh that was 14th Dec 2010 dooooohhhhh  they must get a few through the doors then or just dragged it out to sell.. :fuelfire:
