Hello

We will shortly be advertising our 56 Z4 3.0 Sport Roadster for sale.

It has done 21k miles, and was bought by us from BMW in January. It is immaculate, and has 3 months BMW warranty remaining, with an option for a further 12 upon expiry. We have just MOT'd it and put 2 new front tyres on. It is silver metallic.

I will be taking pictures and putting a more detailed ad up in a week or so - this is essentially a 'heads up' on the off-chance that there is someone out there currently looking for one of these.

We will be looking for a quick sale, are aware that the second hand market is not exactly buoyant currently, and will hence be asking £15,250 ono.

We live near Chelmsford, Essex.

If you are genuinely interested and want more details then please PM me a contact phone number and I will get in touch. I will, as I say, post a more detailed ad in a week or so's time (I am just too busy at the minute), when I intend to put it on Autotrader etc.

Thanks

can the moderators not do something, like if you have just joined and want to sell something, they have to contact moderators?I bet this will slow down the number of unwanted/undesired posts.

just a thought

I would like to sell my car. This website seems like a fairly obvious place to put an ad. Prior to posting it, I carefully read the 'classified policy' at the top of the forum, to ensure that I would be complying with it.

A public forum has been provided to place an ad, and the terms associated with it allow me to place an ad within it. I therefore do not see the issue.

If those that run the forum do not want people to join to place a classified ad, it seems to me that they should put terms in place to prevent that, rather than allowing them to do so, and then making snide comments on posts made in good faith.

If you don't want me to post, then delete the ad (and me), and I will be on my way.

Normally to sell things you have to have 50 posts, well on other forums ive been on its been the case. :)

Yeah true, although at the end you had to be a member and have 50 posts, membership was £10 a year. Trouble is you do miss out on a lot of people selling bits, when they dont normally post. But no ideal solution, well bar ebay.

Seen a few fraudulent sellers too, well some guy selling an exhaust on here a while ago, so so cheap!

I personally think that the value in buying from Forum members is in that to a greater or lesser extent we know a bit about the seller/the car.

If the site is regularly gatecrashed by people selling cars who are unknown to us, surely it de-values the integrity of general buying/selling between genuine Forum participants?

IMHO, of course

well I cant see the prob with this ad- its fair and if someone joined the forum looking for a z to buy they may be interested in what sounds like agood (if a lil expensive) car. Plus if the op decides not to sell we havent really welcomed him along. We arent forced to read his post remember!!
