Selling a 3.07 ratio e85 differential.

removed from a 80k mile 3.0 Z4.

Diff fluid changed at 75k as i dont believe in 'lifetime' oil. Diff is mechanically sound.

Removed due to fitting a 3.46 ratio with quaife internals :D

Looking for £200.

Located in Reading, will deliver reasonably locally for a small amount extra or of course, can be collected.
happy to post, but item is heavy so cost would be calculated should it require posting.

3.64 is the stock ratio on the e85 2.5 auto.

Correct me if i am wrong but the 3.07 ratio was only fitted to the 3.0 z4 roadster and the 3 series zhp cars.

Thank you! I'll stick to what I have in that case

Fair comment.

£120 appears to be the going rate on ebay these days. Will take offers around that.

£80 is the going rate these days to be precise :poke: (I'm probably the last one that bought a 3.07 on ebay  (but it was very cheap) )

Personally I think you'd be better off keeping the diff, that way you'll have the option of selling on the LSD at a later date if you sell the car.

^ its quite a large paperweight to have lying around  ( but sure a seperate lsd will sell much better than a car with lsd) An installed lsd (so easy to swap) is probably very easily sold on this forum.

It might fetch more on the mainland (diffs are more expensive there somehow, probably due to most ads are from professional breakers), or maybe on an e46 forum.
Its a slightly shorter gearing than the stock e46 330i (2.93 vs 3.07), and the z4 diff cover is finned, so slightly better cooling. The rear finned cover alone is seen as an performance upgrade (a new shiny cover alone probably costs £100 at the dealer) in the e46 community. The side drive flanges and the propshaft flange need swapping over from e46 330i install (swapped from the original diff, good moment to refresh the seals) but otherwise its a straight install (for a mechanic, not for the average joe on his carport).

The car is unlikely to be sold due to the extensive modifications it already has. I plan on running the car until its dead and i have no intention of refitting the 3.07 diff as the car is running much more power.

make me an offer.

Literally just sat in my garage at this point. i do rotate it every week to avoid it sticking.
