FS: 17" alloys and Winter Tyres £380

Hi all,

I've bought a winter run about, so no longer need my winter set of wheels. They're now clogging up the garage, so here they are for sale. Start getting ready for that winter freeze!

I bought them from Mr Wilks last year, i believe they're from a 5 series, but i could be wrong and i'm sure Mr W will assist. They're 7.5x17, i'm not sure of the offset but looked rather good on my e89.

Overall the wheels are in good condition, no cracks or buckles with the odd mark here and there (i should have cleaned them before taking a pic). If you want to be picky, you could always get them powder coated and then you'd have a sparkling new set, ready to ruin through winter.

The tyres are 2x Bridgstone Blizzak 225/45/17 with about 4/5mm of tread left on both (i had these on the front). The rears i put brand new Hankook Icebear 225/45/17 on, so they've almost full tread on them (as you'll see from the pics). I think i drove them for all of about 700miles last winter. I think these cost £200 alone.

So i'm asking £380 for them, but open to sensible offers. Collection from Leeds/Harrogate way, but will be happy drive a short distance and meet up.

Any questions, please feel free to ask.

Would these fit an E85?

Hi

I've had a look online and think that an e85 has an offset of 42 as standard. I believe the offset of these is 20.

Now I'll happily stand corrected, but believe this means that the wheels will push out further towards the arch. That's certainly what they did with mine and I thought looked good.

If you're local and want to see what they look like, you're welcome to try them first.

As for everything else, the bolt pattern and centre bore is the same and think that 225/45/17 is the standard size that people go for on Zeda when running a winter.

Where's Mr Wilks when you need him? Haha

They will fit E85 E86 but fronts would be on the limit of poke i would say
They are et 20 which is low but they are only 7.5j width so to compare like for like imagine a front BBS 108 with a 20mm spacer & that's where the wheel face of these would sit on E85 E86 , the rears would sit sweet though
ps / wait 4/6 weeks & folks will be moaning they missed these :D if i hadnt just bought a set of 17 inch winter tyres for my wifes 1 series id have had them off you

If these go over the discs on a 3.5i then I am interested in them.... But I not home till October 1st... Thanks

Has this been tried out or is it just internet talk ?
Only ask as it was thought the same for Z4Ms & ive had 17s on mine no problem & 17s definitely fit 535s & 335s :?

It's my understanding Andy. Not tried it myself. Looking at mine don't see 17" fitting. Maybe worth trying.

If they fit I would have these... Any way to find out?
Trying one out will prove yes or no , my instinct tells me that OEM 17s will fit a 3.5i or 3.5is , but these are only 7.5j so possibly would need to be 8j to give that little bit extra over the caliper ?
I know for sure that you can fit a 8j et 20 17inch alloy on a 535d & imagine the weight of that would need brakes equal in size to a 3.5 Z4 :?
Happy to take my spare 17inch et 34 alloy to the Turnpike meet & try on a 3.5 there but its 5 weeks off

Think a mate has a spare set of 17" oe BMW wheels. Will try one this weekend if he can lend me one
