does anyone else have a wife /partner who moans about your driving too fast on country roads, that you both know and use quite regulary.and when you look at the speedo your going slower than the max speed limit.sometimes i wish i could just pull over, kick her out and enjoy the ride, but after 24 years of marriage and her helping finance the car ,one can only dream.

 made me laugh - mine loves going fast, so that's not my problem... I want to kick her out cos she moans so much about everything else

Haha this made me laugh!

When i was younger my mother would complain i drove too fast... Is this what i have to look forward too with married life?! I'd prob be better off staying single!

Your wife will of course eventually become a (your) mother, unless children don't happen. So yes, you have this to possibly look forward to. However after a number of years consideration i ave decided that the pros outweigh the cons

Have you thought that it might not be how fast you are driving, but the way you drive that worries her.........

Yeah I'll grab me coat......

Stay single mate, you will driving a Aston Martin berfore you know it ! LOL

My missus was in a high speed crash (80+) about 18 months ago as a passenger. She doesn't mind the speed, I think as said above, the way you drive could be the issue.

Not saying its necessarily bad, however windy country roads, roof down, harsh braking, quick acceleration. Whilst you may be in control, and if not the computer will usually correct your mistake, im sure we all as passengers go to brake ourselves.

It's when she moans about the roof down that you need to get rid

I have no idea how you drive, however... try driving smoother - it's usually aggressive maneouvers that alert people to speed! If I've crept up to Warp 10 or had a spirited thrash where I blend the throttle in around corners it's not been noticed. If I suddenly mash the throttle pedal on a corner exit however it gives the game away! (Note - you can still use full throttle and brakes, you just treat them as digital controls).
Mrs Eds has been a much worse passenger since learning to drive herself. Until then she was confident in my driving, but when she started learning she couldn't believe how much more natural and instinctive things become compared to the concentration when your learning. For a while she'd be stamping on the passenger foot-well carpet whenever we passed her braking point before a corner.

I always tell mine not to speak with your mouth full, it's rude...

We have found a solution this age old problem. If we are going out localy we take two cars.

I remember several years ago going on holiday to Ilfracombe. My son and I took the Fiat Coupe 20VT and the wife & daughter took the Modeo SI24v. Upon reaching the North Devon coast road us chaps sped off, over taking all comers and generaly enjoying the run up the coast road. :driving: On the out skirts of Barnstable I thought ,better pull over and let the old girl catch up. She was about 30secnds behind us. :o So much petrol wasted, but much fun had. :D

The love of my life still reaches up to grab the bull**it handles, in a roadster I ask you. Now resorted to putting fingertips on the door???

ALL THE TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She used to Drive like a bat of hell in her younger years !

P.s Jembo your a dirty boy! :P
